I love collaborating with other bloggers, and seeing all these award nominations flying around in cyberspace! It’s fantastic that these blogger-to-blogger awards promote a supportive atmosphere around the blogging community. I’m grateful to have been nominated for a few, and wanted to give back somehow. I’m a mummy blogger, and I’ve dedicated a lot of time and energy to building a community for mummy (and daddy) bloggers, including an online mothers group and a blogger-to-blogger collaboration group for parenting/family/lifestyle bloggers. I couldn’t find a blogging award specifically for this community (though, I may not have looked hard enough!), so I thought it would be nice to create one!
For a bit of fun, I thought I’d take part in the 100 truths blogger tag created by Debbie, over at My random musings. I was tagged by Kim, from Raising a ragamuffin – thanks for the invite! If you want to join in, check the bottom of the post for instructions – and don’t forget to tag other bloggers who’d like to play! If there are any bits you don’t want to answer, just skip them 🙂

A big theme for Disney – the films and the parks – is that of happiness. “The Happiest Place on Earth”, “Where Dreams Come True”, and “The Most Magical Place on Earth” are some of the slogans Disney employs in their branding and advertising. For those of us who have visited one or more of the Disney theme parks, it is easy to understand and relate to these slogans. The rides, the designs, the cast, the stores, and even the waiting areas, are incredibly imaginative and painstakingly detailed, such that it is impossible to feel as though you are just in a theme park. You are in another world.
I’m lucky enough to live in a beautiful, semi-rural area, and I love it here. There’s the convenience of nearby amenities (you know, train station, shopping centre, cafés), blended with the picturesque feel of country living. We can go for lovely walks and drives, which my little man really enjoys, and there’s so much to see.
This evening, we popped over to the shops to pick up some snacks – the breastfeeding mother’s life(hunger)saver – and J started making sleep noises. He often falls asleep while we’re driving, so I took a roundabout way home, in an attempt to arrive at the house with a sleeping baby. Alas, it was not to be this time, but that’s not what this post is about …
Vlogging is something that has intrigued me for a while, now, but is something I’ve never really explored. It’s on my wishlist of things to supplement my blog, but it’s probably still a ways into the future. However, there are some channels I have found that have some great content!
I haven’t spent a great deal of time I Pinterest. Until recently, I didn’t really get how Pinterest benefits bloggers. I still don’t really understand it, but I’m told it’s a must! So this is a little snippet into my venture into using Pinterest, in the absence of a list of great boards to follow …
There is so much content on Facebook, that it is sometimes hard to find quality pages to follow. As part of my mummy blogging adventure, I’ve found and followed a bunch of great pages from other mums and dads sharing their parenting journeys, as well as baby/parenting-related pages from brands/companies. Here are five Facebook pages that I love!
I love going to the zoo! I had planned to take J to Taronga this week, along with a friend and her baby daughter, but the weather was too windy and bleak for a zoo visit. We went to the SEA LIFE Aquarium (formerly Sydney Aquarium) instead.
